I thought it would be fun to set up a captive portal to let anybody use my broadband connection... maybe somebody might even pay a quid.
The idea is:

to masquerade clients connected via eth1

that they can use the Internet.However, I would like some information about who is using my connection. There may be some bloody stupid legal necessity for collecting user information too. Therefore I need to:

MAC address through.Searching the Internet, the only solutions seemed to be very complicated.
However, then I found Andy Beverley‘s page which describes exactly what I‘m after. I haven't tried it yet...
